English born singer/songwriter, LINDA LEWIS, has been at the forefront of the music business for three decades. Apart from her own successful singing career, Linda is one of the most in demand session singers in the world. Her voice has been heard on many of the most important albums of popular music over the last thirty years. Her five octave range can be heard on albums that are now part of the history of popular music from David Bowie’s “Aladdin Sane” and Cat Stevens “Catch Bull At Four” to recordings by Jamiroquai, Oasis, Turin Brakes and Midfield General. Linda was delighted to learn that Geffen recording artist ‘Common’ sampled her recording “Old Smokey” on his track Go!, produced by Kanye West.

As a teenager Linda appeared as an extra in The Beatles film “A Hard Days Night” & the classic “A Taste of Honey.”

During the 1970s, Linda released seven albums.  Her Debut, on Arista Records, “Not a Little Girl Anymore” was released in 1975 and climbed into the UK top 40 with the help of the top ten UK hit “Its’s in his Kiss”.

From her first release, a single in 1965 to the Glastonbury Festival of 1971 through to her triumphant return to Glastonbury she has graced the music stages of the world. Recent outings have seen Linda sell out six nights at Ronnie Scott’s along with appearances at Guildfest, The Montreaux Jazz Festival, Vintage 2011 and Glastonbury 2011.

Linda Lewis has never considered herself a ‘jazz singer’, but has always been able to hold the note where others falter, and unconsciously uses vocal devices characteristic of scat singers, but scaled up to suit Lewis’ exquisite, light, angel voice. Chrissie Murray.

Admirers of her stunning vocal work include Stevie Wonder, Eric Clapton & Joni Mitchell.
